LINKS BETWEEN MPs, PEERS, LOBBYISTS AND HEALTHCARE CORPORATIONS
We need an end to political corruption. Our draft demands include the following:
Remove the right of politicians with financial ties to private healthcare corporations, think tanks, lobby groups or insurance providers with healthcare links – nationally or internationally - to vote on NHS and healthcare issues; compulsory declaration of all healthcare interests
The links below show how politicians from all the main parties are benefiting directly from their votes to privatise the NHS. Although these ties are (so far as we know) completely legal, we believe they reflect a deep corruption in our political system.
In the run up to the general election, campaigners will be asking politicians to sign a pledge to end the cuts and privatisation that are wrecking the NHS. We will support candidates who will sign the NHS pledge and actively campaign against those who refuse. More details to come soon.

Politicians feather their own nest by wrecking our NHS
MPs' expenses are a tip of the iceberg. The real scandal is politicians from all the main political parties creating new laws which will line their own pockets, and politicians financed by corporations and lobby groups which profit from their actions. Read on......... |

Social Investigations has carried out a detailed analysis of links between MPs and peers in the House of Lords - the people responsible for passing laws to privatise the NHS - and parliamentary lobbying organisations, so-called 'independent' health think tanks and the healthcare corporations that fund them. Most of us would think it corrupt and immoral that MPs and Lords who will benefit directly from NHS privatisation are able to vote on these matters. But the fact is, this is perfectly legal. Some of us see that as the biggest scandal of all, revealing the extent of crony capitalism and corruption in UK politics. |
